The IHCA Council would like to give sailors a preliminary notice for a Hobie 14, Dragoon, Tiger and Wild Cat World Championships at Travemuender, Germany. The tentative dates scheduled would be 19-28 July 2013. These World Championships would be a bring-your-own-boat world championships. The IHCA thought it was important to give as much advance notice as possible so sailors could plan their holidays and begin to organize transport of their boat. The IHCA has not yet finalized the necessary contracts for the events but is only waiting for ISAF approval for the World Championships. Stay tuned for more information.

The Hobie Europeans, Arzon, France have started with the first part of the series concluded. With results for the Hobie 14, Dragoon, Hobie 16 Women, Youth Spi, Open Spi, Masters and Open Qualifier all concluded. Hobie 16 Open Finals (Gold / Silver / Bronze), FX-One and Tiger/ Wild Cat currently underway. Results and photos are on the web site. Well done to winners who made the effort to attend the Hobie Europeans.

2012 Asian & Pacific Hobie16 Championships August has a date change to the 14th to August 23rd and will still be held in Weihai, China. The hosts are now offering FRee rooms during the event at Sports Hotel, and free breakfast and lunch. Entry fees have now been removed. That is right FREE ENTRY. Good quality Hobie 16 are available with NO CHARTER FEE so no need to worry about your boat just pack your trap harness and life jacket. Enjoy a lovely beach and good Hobie friends with some great racing. There are more hotels and restaurants that have recently opened for you to choose from to make your Hobie stay even more enjoyable. The race venue for the first day is Gate of Happiness Bay with the rest of the racing from Weihai Beach.

Fiji Youth Challenge are now concluded. Designed to enhance the racing and handling skills of Pacific Island Hobie youngsters, the 14 races were conducted over the three days in near perfect condition of 12/15 knots and 28c. Well done to the New Caledonian youth team who won. Already the Pacific youth sailors are waiting for the youth challenge next year and have put the challenge out to all the youth Pacific youth sailors.

Australian Hobie Nationals are at Port Melbourne, racing 29-30-31 December, New Years Eve Party, 1st Jan rest day, Racing 2-3 Jan.

The Hobie 16 has been selected for the 2013 Pacific Mini-Games and Oceanic Championships hosted in Wallis and Futuna. The Hobie 16 has also been selected for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada.
