IHCA November News

 by

The IHCA Council would like to give sailors a preliminary notice for a Hobie 14, Dragoon, Tiger and Wild Cat World Championships at Travemuende, Germany. The tentative dates scheduled would be 19-28 July 2013. These World Championships would be a bring-your-own-boat world championships. The IHCA thought it was important to give as much advance notice as possible so sailors could plan their holidays and begin to organize transport of their boat. The hosts have signed a contract and ISAF have approved the world Championship. We are working with the hosts to have a Notice of Race produced as quickly as possible.

Congratulations to Hobie Alter who celebrated his 79th birthday recently. All Hobie sailors wish Hobie a very Happy Birthday and hope he has many more birthdays. It is hard to gauge how many people Hobie has introduced into sailing since he first designed the Hobie 14. Though it could be argued Hobie can be attributed for introducing more people into sailing than any other boat designer.

Congratulations to the sailors who attended the recent Hobie 17 & Hobie 18 North American championships. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to the sailors. With the weather going from the extreme wind to no wind.
