2005 Hobie FXone

-New shrouds, forestay last year.
-New graphics last year. Had custom ones made, they'll last much longer than the originals.
-Lots of rigging improvements. Continuous mast rotation line, 16:1 downhaul, pig-tailed spinnaker sheets.
-New Goodall spinnaker, used one weekend this fall.
-Includes comfort wings.
-SNU Snuffer, also have the stock setup as well.
-85lb righting bag
-Just re-did the dagger boards, and re-carpeted the wells
-Brand new set of trap lines in June, also have another set of new trap lines that have never been on the boat.

Its a damn nice boat, and I've got it set up really well.

The MSO list the boat as a 2004, the hull ID number says its a 05', so whatever.

I'm sure I'm forgeting something.

$8500 for the boat, I've got a very awesome custom built aluminum trailer that I'd sell with it for an addition $2500.

Delivery possible with compensation for mileage. If your wanting me to drive 200 miles, I'll do that for nothing, if you want me to bring it to one of the coasts we'll have to work something out.

Pretty sure I'll be replacing it with a new AHPC Viper.

Don't get me wrong, the FXone is a great boat, and I'll really miss the killer Portsmouth number, as its far faster than its rating. My only problem with the boat is that I'm doubtful there will ever be a nationals for it. For whatever reason it just isn't popular. The F16 class is younger, yet there will be almost 30 F16's in Florida next week for the Global Challenge.

The viper is bad ass Karl. I am seriously looking that way as well. I find it harder and harder to get crew for my boat and the ability to sail one or two up is awesome. The F16 class is something that Hobie needs to take a serious look at and put a boat out for this class. I'm sure Hobie Europe will do it first but it would be nice to see it originate here in the US.

Hmmm, says I. I know where you can get a cheap FXone that fits the bill for about half of what a Viper sells for.

I'm sorry my friend. My experience with the Fox tells me to stay far, far away from the FX1. I do think it is a sweet boat though! I've still got the 10k insurance paid when the Fox blew up to put toward something in the future. Right now my job is so iffy I'm just going to sit tight.

If you didn't like the Fox, best to stay away from the Viper as well. All of the new boats, regardless of who makes it, require some care to keep from damaging them.

It is surely.

There should be some bets on a sale date?
