I already have an Elite5 DSI that I have mounted on my PA12. My idea is just to get another set of wires/transducer and install it on my 2012 TI. My question is, I really like the thruhull grommet kit that came with my PA12. I wanted to install them just in front of the rear aka crossbar. I cannot use the through deck cable seal from west because the Lowrance lock cap is 3/4" wide. Does anyone have any other experience with this? Can I just order a couple of these and install them on my TI? How would I go about getting them? Thanks! Jay |

Jay--did you ever figure this out? I have to do a proper through deck fitting for my AI. I have been lazy and just snaking the cord through my forward hatch. Yesterday I was halibut fishing in some challenging conditions and ended up with a gallon or 2 of water in the hull so it's past time I did a proper install. Tom |

Jeez, sorry I missed this tsquared. Was at a fishing tournament in the louisiana swamp all weekend with the TI and 1 ama/aka/haka kit. Worked better than expected in skinny water. I did get this sorted. I ended up shooting the tranducer through the hull and it still gives me accurate water temps and the same gorgeous DSI images I was getting in the PA. Your local dealer can get the Hobie thru-hull plugs and a set of rubber plug inserts. Fair price also for how clean they are. I think I paid <$20 for 2 plugs and a rubber kit. Part #'s below: THRU HULL PLUG - Hobie # 86505611 RUBBER ADAPTER PLUGS - Hobie # 86505701 You can have a look at them here. http://sunjammers.com/kayak-gear/kayak-parts/hobie/mirage-pro-angleer-12/lowrance-ready.html I can snap a few pics of my install if you'd like. -Jay |

Sorry to drag up an old thread but looking for ideas for my Adventure. I was under the impression that the dsi transducer had to be in the water? |

cbump - I installed an Elite 4 DSI in my TI at the beginning of the week. The DSI transducer does say it works better in the water but I'm very happy with how the install turned out. The guys down at Tackle Shack in St. Petersburg, FL are awesome. Give them a call and they can definitely put you in the right direction. I tried uploading a screen shot of the Elite 4 DSI while I was out on the maiden test voyage but not sure if it made it.
