Have a friend interested in purchasing an older hobie. He's not sure what year/model it is? The id is legible. Can anyone help me understand what the series of letters/numbers means? Four letters followed by eight numbers. Thanks.

Thanks for quick reply and now underatand the alpha/numerics. What model is a "CCMY" built in 204?

That was one of the first Hobie Tandems, forerunner of the Oasis and prototype for the original Viking ship back in 204 AD.

Seriously, it's a 2004 model. Most likely the "2" should be a 3 for 2003 (the actual "build" year). 8)
