Paddling.

Would a longer kayak paddle help give you the extra space you need to paddle easily?

This info was great. I own a pro angler and a sail, but was wondering how you rigged the sail to automatically rap up? I hate the flapping noise when I am out fishing.

There have been some innovative furling systems on the kayak sailing forum. You can start out with this great how-to from stringy, who has built a couple of different systems: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8455

On the Pro Angler you probably don't need a furler though since it is almost impossible to overpower this boat with the standard sail. When not in use, you can just dismount the sail, turn it horizontally, roll it up and stow it in less than a minute. This also eliminates any awkwardness fighting a fish crossing the bow.

To make it quicker and easier, you can make a quick disconnect for the mainsheet by untying it and using a snap hook as follows:
