Hi to all. Just got a new 09 Outback a few days ago and noticed a couple of things when I flipped it over for transportation.

There are two white plugs aft of the Mirage Drive well opening? What are these? They are about 6 inches apart. See picture below. (I just noticed the red wasp in this picture and wondered what stirring a nest up while underway would be like lol)

Also noticed some abrasion along the bottom of the drive well, especially along the port side. It looks like this area is routed / filed down. Is this normal and something they do during manufacture? There is a definite seam in this area all the way around the drive well.

Any information on this will be much appreciated.

The white plugs are just small caps that we install for cosmetic reasons over the insert that builds the structure to the front of the drive well - and the base of the sail / accessory mount.

Yes the boat is hand trimmed around the mold parting line in the drive well - as well as in each scupper and the outer edge of the hull as well...all normal.

Thanks for the a quick response. Figured everything was probably routine. Good to know for sure.
