In an earlier thread on self-rescue in the Sport, it was mentioned that having the built-in handle on the newer Hobies was a help. Marie also referred to an earlier post of mine on adding new eyestraps and a port-side "broomstick" handle on even the newer Hobies.

There is also another type of handle that might work for some folks. It is sold as a "Hangalls" at places like Lowes. It is basically a large carabiner with a padded side for ease in carrying stuff. With the addition of a SS shackle, you can easily add this style of extra handle to the stock Hobie eyestraps. It is easy to set up and use, but may require strengthening the stock eyestrap attachment points, so I would take it easy in trying this at first. My "broomstick" handle is at right
