I thought I'd share a few photos I took this weekend from the seat of my Adventure. I've had a difficult time shooting photos for publication from the paddle kayaks I've used until now. It's difficult to frame and focus a shot when everything is moving. And when working with an expensive camera, the need to put it down in order to reposition the kayak is nerve-wracking.
The Adventure's hands-free operation really pays off.
These photos were taken just outside Dana Pt Harbor. The dolphins and one boisterous juvenile sea lion were feeding on Pacific mackerel. They weren't bothered by me or the Adventure - they swam right up to within feet of me.
Here's another creature spotted this weekend at Dana Pt. Hobie Kayak's own Pro Staffer Drew Clark with a beautiful calico bass.
