I love the vacuum-seal idea, not only is the towel and clothing dry, they take up a lot less room with the air pumped out.

Lots of good ideas in this thread. Instead of the dye, which diffuses away, there exists an orange safety pennant, it's 20 or 30 feet long, streams out and floats, I'll see if I can find a link.

Not to divert this thread into a signalling discussion... I have at any one time forgotten: dagger board, hat, water.

I keep a hankerchief in a pocket on my pfd, along w/knife, small multi-tool, sunscreen, weather radio, whistle, munchies, gloves, sm dry box (phone/wallet). If I don't forget THAT, I'm doing ok...
