I have an Outback Fisherman (Mirage Drive). The left twist locking mechanism that holds the Mirage Drive in place stripped free from the hull. The bolt (allen wrench style) stripped out of the hull with the PVC material still in the grooves of the bolt. Hobie suggested that I tighten the bolt down, which, I did. However, each time I took the kayak out, the bolt would eventually pull back out, making it impossible to peddle the kayak. Now, it won't hold for more than one, or, two light peddle strokes and the bolt spins freely in the hole when tightened.

Anyone run into this problem?

Thanks,

New one on me. Maybe a larger bolt? Tap to the larger thread. Depends on the age of the boat and reason for the failure, but it may be covered under warranty. Contact a dealer.

Hobie (as with any other situation I've had, or, heard of) was very quick to respond to the issue and offer to fix.
