Hey downunder, A hearty welcome to the Hobie Forum. Yep-lots of folks have rigged trolling motors to kayaks. However, in head-to-head tests, it turns out the Mirage Drive pedal system will permit the same speed as an electric motor. Here are a few links to get you started. Have fun! http://www.paddle-fishing.com/rigging/trollmotor.htm http://www.canopy.net/sunspot/ http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com/articl ... rticles=57 |

G'day Apalache, thanks for posting the websites, very interesting, they give me some really good ideas, only issue for me would be weight on one side however i guess outriggers would assist stability.i will be down in Sydney (300klms south from home)in July to look at buying the outback fisherman(hope its a current 2006 model and not old stock!!).very limited suppliers in my State, most only carry limited stock and hence comparison of models difficult, the forum and guys like you are a godsend when trying to make the right decision. thanks again from Downunder ps.any outback owners with motor and pics out there? |
