Middle hatch (in front of seat) on revolution 2009 does not close fully. Is that ok, anyway to fix it?

It seems functional other than on rainy days I suspect a few extra drops of water gets in when I open and close (but nothing excessive really).

Two pictures below: top shows how it looks partially open when I turn the handle in a normal way. Bottom shows fully closed which I only get by pressing down on the sides really hard. (BTW, back hatch works fine and closes fully when I just turn handle and am pretty sure middle hatch used to work that way until recently)

Silicone lube on the o ring would help. It is not necessary for the lid to be level with the flange to seal, so this is simply cosmetic and if not corrected by the silicone and pressing down on the high side.. likely the hinge or flange are warped a little.

You can see in the first picture that the seal is twisted which is partly to blame. Lubing as Matt posted will fix most if not all of the problem.

I take the seal off and wash with just water, then dry it and clean the seal groove and replace the seal, then lube lightly.

If I choose to use spray silicon, I spray the sides of the flange and not the seal directly as the petroleum products can deteriorate the rubber seal. Wait till it drys before closing the hatch.

If the hatch doesn't close flush, just push down on the raised side and it should go flush.
