Post subject: | Question on Hobie Trailer |
For any of you that has one, the Hobie single kayak trailer is listed as having a tongue to fit a 1-7/8th inch ball. All my trailers have 2-inch balls and I don't want to have to swap back and forth. Can anyone tell me if this trailer has the standard bolted-on tongue? If so I should be able to replace it with a larger tongue (shim) and leave it at that. Just want to be sure it is possible to replace the tongue. |

Tom, the coupler is bolted on the Trailex trailer. Don't mess with the tongue as it's a special aluminum channel. I changed my coupler to a 2" model.....went to my NAPA store and the coupler was about $26.00. Just make sure the coupler is designed to fit the 2.5" aluminum channel. |

As long as I can unbolt it I can deal with it. Just wasn't sure if the unit was a bolt-on or not. Thanks. |
