Just ordered a speedo today. I really think I can do 15mph with my revo 13. Does the speedo go that high?

If I recall correctly, it goes to about 7 or 8. Have fun trying to get it there and good luck keeping it there for more than a few minutes.

15mph? Maybe with a sail, mirage and electric motor. I suspect we'll see a hull replacement thread from you in the future if you can get that thing over 8 mph on a consistent basis.

You'll have to buy 2 speedos and combine the two readings.

It's in the catalogue with number 80030001. Sometimes called “pitot tube”.

They actually work very well. Within the confines of the discernible resolution, they match my GPS exactly.

Quite a useful bit of kit in tidal waters because it measures speed through the water rather than over the ground.

Example of use: if you position yourself beside a stationary object such as a buoy you can measure actual tidal flow (direction and speed) which you can then use to plot a direct course to your destination.

This might not seem anything to get terribly excited about but if you do not have a working GPS and find yourself needing to get from point A to point B in restricted visibility (e.g. fog or night) it could be a potential lifesaver.
