I am very interested in this. I have been investigating the do-it-yourself route but finding the parts is tough. I intensely dislike the wet butt I get on my Revo 11. Hobie: Please listen.

Yes I wondered that too. So started to mess about with different ideas. It also looks like a few others are tinkering around with the same goal in mind.

Probably when there is enough interest in this, Hobie might look at making something to retrofit to existing scupper plugs.

You will find a few other current DIY ideas here.

and this seems to work well too.

The demand to justify a unit from Hobie may not be there. Only those boats where the top of the scuppers sit below the waterline (bad design to begin with) is there any real need for them. Otherwise it's not much of an issue since the whole idea of a scupper is to create a self bailing boat.

this is an 'accessory' and not a re-designed hull, therefore, the demand need not be enormous. and as with other accessories, hobie need not design the unit, nor manufacture the unit. it could easily be done by a supplier/partner.
regardless of design or location of the upper portion of the overboard drain, a wet butt is still wet. and if you can plug a hole, and allow water that might accumulate in the butt area, to drain out, without allowing more water in--that's a good thing. lol.
i think the design and pics included in the initial post are top-notch.

cheers.

This topic comes up from time to time. Here are some solutions from last year's discussion:
