Just picked up a new Oasis and found out the hard way that the Hobie water bottles are not "dishwasher safe". My wife rinsed them out and put them in the upper tray of the dishwasher to clean them before we used them. Both bottles deformed when they got hot...to the point that they will not seal anymore. We just assumed that you could run them in the dishwasher.

DO NOT put them in the dishwasher. Unfortunately, I never got to use them...

OK, since you've all been asking for it, I took a sabbatical from work to try to figure this out for all of you. How do you make the large Hobie Sports Bottle fit into the small cupholder??

Stick it in the dishwasher with the heat-dry on!! LOL. Don;t worry about the sticker on the bottom that says "hand wash only" !!!

Seems that bottles like these are injected molded at the smaller size and then heated and blown in another mold to the larger size. Heating again allows them to get back to the original injected size. Wow!

Now, the new Hobie test tube!

We've seen that here a couple of times. It's not the dish washing, it's the heated dry cycle that has done it in here.

I wouldn't file a warranty claim over it , although it may be a deal breaker for some.

Mbkona :
All is not lost, now you have an excuse to upgrade to a TI, the TI includes a second drink holder on the left side that will only hold one of those collapsed Hobie bottles, the drink pocket is too small for a regular soda can, it only fits the Michelob ultra thin beer cans.
My wife only drinks Michelob ultra from those skinny cans, this was my main selling point to get her to allow me to upgrade to the Tandem Island from our Oasis (true story). Hey it worked.

They also float away after a capsize. :(

Mind you, after righting the TI I was able to find the runaway bottle :)

I now have chicken straps attached.
