Post subject:  mirage drive difficult to insert

I have a new Hobie Mirage Sport. The mirage drive is very difficult to get seated into the well all the way. Any advice on making it easier to get in or will it just get easier the more I use it? It's been a wrestling match the two times I've done it so far. I can't image doing it out on the water like I saw in the videos. Thanks for any help!

Hi gafchic and welcome to the forum.

The drive units can be tricky until you get used to them. Once you get the cam slots lined up, try tilting the front part of the drive in first and see if the back drops in -- that will usually do it. Trying to force them is useless. Sometimes a little wiggle helps. Even when you develop the technique, sometimes they can be a little recalcitrent! 8)

Thanks for the advice! I'm glad to know this is normal. I should get the hang of it eventually and burn some calories at the same time! Thanks again.

Strictly for entertainment purposes, do you suppose you could post images of that?!
