I have a new 2013 Oasis. Is the rudder suppose to go to full lock position in each direction? It doesn't seem to turn very far in each direction. I have adjusted the position and tension on the steering cables, they only turned the rudder in one direction when I bought the kayak. Looks to me that the only way to get more turn out of the rudder is if the steering controls had longer bars where the cables attach on the inside of the boat.

Although there is room for the rudder to turn further, the function is correct when limited from full turn. If you turn as far as the transom allows, the rudder becomes a brake. Like turning the wheels of a car 90 degrees. Note that car wheels turn to a max of something like 45 degrees.

Thanks Matt, we took it out in the Carlsbad lagoon and it does turn fine I was just concerned that the rudder was suppose to go all the way. Looks like we will try it going out Oceanside harbor Saturday. Weather looks great.
