Loading my Revo 13 into my truck, I will invariably drag the stern a bit while lifting the bow into the back of the truck bed. This is causing some nasty scars on the very end of the keel at the stern. Any ideas on how to protect this area without degrading the hull's efficiency in the water?

Put a scrap of rug down on the ground where the boat scrapes just before loading/unloading?

here's what I do...$14 in parts at local Home depot. works like a champ. 4 adjustable bungie cords, and 1 foam rubber mat doubled over! I even leave it on when im going down the road. trust me, its very secure....

I have tried a rug. It gets wet, dirty, I have 2 yaks so I have to reposition it 2x entering and exiting truck each time. Then have to keep it somewhere when not using it . . . a PITA.

I would love to have something on the yak keel itself.

Put Keelezy or Marinetex on to protect it. It works well. No bungies, mats or carpet required:)

I keep an astroturf door mat in the back of the truck for just this purpose. It doesn't collect water and is tough as nails. Dirt just shakes out of it.

I use a Yoga mat. It doesn't soak up water and water does not pass through (which makes it a great place to put wet items when heading home).
When I get home, I just lay it out on the driveway and hose off the salt and dirt.

TNOutback there is always more than one way.
I car top as below and had the same problem and did try the mats.

So I made a metal attachment which uses the rudder mount.
Real innovators here is Australia :D

The flat protruding down, each end of the horizontal, stops the TI sliding back when I walk forward to lift it off the car.
The wide horizontal arm helps keep the TI vertical.
There is a pad forward which helps transfer the load to the hull.
I did have two hooks to tie the device to the top of the hull but found that un-necessary.

The bottom line is, this allows me to unload and load the TI on my own.
