I'm packing up my Outback for my first trip of the season 8) and the sail mount kind of gets in the way of shoving large drybags into the boat. I was wondering how much hull rigidity was designed into the boat with this feature and how much would be lost if it was taken out.

Any thoughts?

It looks structural to me. I think it would be like taking 1 pole out of a pole barn. The other poles should hold it up but I still wouldnt take a pole out.
