Post subject:  Carrying yoke for an Outback?

I just purchased an Outback. I am curious if a carrying yoke exists that will fit an Outback. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean some type of carrying strap so a person could single-handed carry it?

Yes, I have a 15 foot canoe, and I use a yoke to carry it on my shoulders. It would be nice to be able to do the same with my Outback. Any suggestions????

Thanks in advance.

I have not seen one yet....although someone may have made a custom one......the Outback interior depth is shallower than a canoe which means it would need more elevation above your shoulders for visibility.......and finding the balance point would be critical due to the mass of the hull.....any wind would turn it into a plastic sail and potentially difficult to control...... :o

I use a tie down strap through the back scupper and the mirage drive hole and sling it over my shoulder to carry my pro angler inside. It's pretty rough with the PA but should be easy with the Outback

You guys must be big!!!! I've had an Outback; they are nearly 13 feet long and weight at least 80 pounds. I'm smaller though, 5'6", 155. I have carried and drug one around for a very short distance. I'd hate to think I had to "carry" one any distance at all. I use the Hobie medium wheel cart; that makes transport nearly easy.

I carried mind above my head with two hands. Found the balance point and then used my head as the balance point.. but only about 20 yards is all I had to carry it to the water. (that was empty weight). Good LUck
