Going to Bar Harbor for vacation tomorrow. Taking the Oasis with us. I called some Kayak tour places and of course they rent their own equipment. All have said that the Hobies wouldn't be suitable in those waters, (sit in vs. sit on) kayak. Apparently Hobies aren't real commonly seen that far north.

We were thinking about kayaking in the Bay of Fundy area in Canada. Whale watching, seals etc. One tour operator said that the currents would be too much for the mirage drives, and that their 16' single sit in performance kayaks are much more suitable.

Has anyone been up there with their Hobies, and is there any legitimacy to their claims, or just a way to encourage us to use their stuff to maximize their profits? It could be a cool experience. Anyone have any experience up in those waters. Can't wait to enjoy some of that $3.49 pund lobster. There's a glut up there this year.

Thanks for any feedback.
