Talk to your local dealer about getting the drive sealer, about $11.50. It attaches to the stern side of the drive and keeps much of the water out.

I just bought a nice used 06 Outback and I am getting about 5-6 inches of water in the footwell/ drive area it is up to the top of mesh net pocket. I am about 210 lb and I fish light - 2 poles and handful of soft plastics and lunch can't be over 230 lb total me and gear. Boat has nothing mounted on it so no weight there. Can't find any damage and not leaking. Is this normal ? Thanks |

How much water is inside the hull? If there is that much water int he drive well, then the hull must be under water that much too... If so there is to much weight, not just your body weight, inside the hull... open up the round hatch at you legs and see how much water is inside.. Hope this helps. |

When you're in the boat, the water level in the drive well should be the same as it is on the outside of the hull. Look over the side and see if the two levels are equal. If so, then it's normal for the amount of weight you have in the boat. Do make sure the inside of the hull hasn't taken on water. It should be dry, save for perhaps a very, very small amount of water that can get in from opening a hatch lid or perhaps wicking in via the rudder control lines. |
