I went with the Harken Hoist System (see photo) primarily because I needed to be able to have enough clearance to store half of the boat over a roll up garage door. Other systems could not get it high enough. I have to store it upside down primarily for the clearance but I think it is better because the straps put all the weight on the strongest part of the kayak, the top edges. As far as transporting the Outfitter, it will fit on most vehicles... I also carry it upside down on foam blocks on SUV cargo rails.
