Have an '08 outback wondering if you can change out the twist locks to newer locks for the mirage drive. Also can the screws on the seat be changed out for the twist locks on the newer style seats.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You won't be able to change out the drive well locks for sure.

Dunno about the seat pegs - suspect not - but I think there are two or three types of seat pegs: normal, expanding and twist lock.

If you have the 'normal' pegs (i.e. just a plastic cylinder with no moving parts) and your problem is one of seat pegs coming out of their holes so that the seat slides about under you, then you might try either:
a) putting tape around the existing pegs to make them fatter and therefore a more secure fit in the holes - very cheap semi-permanent fix if you can get it right.
b) replacing the normal pegs with the expanding ones - still cheap but possibly a better long-term fix (just beware over-tightening the expanding pegs - you don't want to 'burst' the hole by over tightening because this would let water into your boat!)

This is a first go at providing the answer you seek - hope it helps - others may want to chip in... ?

As Stobbo said, to convert the cam locks to lever locks is not possible. The drive wells were remolded to a very different shape.
From memory the 08 seat peg holes were the same size and they can be upgraded: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=40645
Hobie actually had an upgrade kit but I'm not sure it's still available?
Part#81276203 Twist Lock Seat Hull Conversion Kit. It's not showing in the latest catalogue.
There was a concern for hole damage with careless use of the tap.

Thanks for the advice.

Haven't had the outback but a few months and looking to upgrade parts if possible. Wife just got a 2013, 11' Revolution and I liked the seat. Will look into and try advice given.

Will probably be posting, and looking, for more advice to get both kayaks ready for fishing and ideas for customization of storage hatches.

Thanks again
