There are a lot of discussions on the subject.

One from the Island forums: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=46998&start=15

I put together some pictures and a short writeup of what I did with my 2013 Outback:

http://n5usr.net/kayaking/outbackSeat.html

I wanted a high back and reclined angle like my recumbent bicycle, also wanted to keep as low as possible for stability. This works fabulously for me, but does eat up space in the rear well.

I keep trying to tell everyone that a very good and cheap solution to this problem is to buy a $10 plastic one piece molded seat that you would find in walmart or academy sports stores. Adjust the canvas seat at the angle you like and the seat will protect your butt from going to sleep as quick and the back support will help you too.

The height you are rasised is about two inches above the canvas seat that hobie provides with the yak...

Good Luck

Take a look at this. Worked great for me, and I couldn't be happier with it!
