After all the AI pioneers got the bugs worked out, I decided it was safe for me to finally get one. Today was her maiden voyage.

I was pretty excited, so I was hurrying up to the windsurf area where there is an occasional nice breeze.

It was such a lovely day with the sun glistening off the water.

But no time for distractions. Must rush to the area before the wind dies.

The boat had this oily film on it, so I decided to get it washed off while I was out.

Uh oh, I think I 'm about to get washed myself!

Alas, by the time I finally arrived, all the good wind had gone by. So it was time to head home. I finally figured out how to unfurl the sail all the way!

Maybe next time there'll be more of a breeze.... 8)

Roadrunner congrats on taking the plunge. I take it that we AI owners can now rest assured that you will undertake the perfecting of the AI. Can we expect foils anytime soon? :D

Thanks gwiz. You, Punchinello Yakaholic and others have really done all the heavy lifting to help Hobie develop the "state of the art" product that I am now enjoying!

It'll take me at least a month or two just to get up to speed on the 16 pages of great ideas you guys developed here:
http://kfs.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 6301009472
-- issues that helped Hobie improve the retention clip, mast collar, rudder handle; the development of procedures on reefing, rudder use, rigging options, transportation and handling; sailing tips and of course, your spray shield development.

My hat's off to you "professors" for pioneering these developments. I'll be rejoining my kindergarten class now. My first mod will be a waterproof jacket! 8)
