We went by Yellowfin Ocean Sports yesterday and spent about 2 hours with John Farmer. He was great, answering our many stupid beginner questions about everything in kayak world.

Our Golden Papaya Oasis should be here in a couple of weeks. We can hardly wait.

We have set up the Suburban roof rack with some foam pipe insulation for the new Oasis to ride on. We're planning to start off using the standard Suburban roof rack. We have been looking at the Thule Hullavator and putting a cargo box next to it. We plan to take the Oasis all over the country camping. While here at home (we live three houses off the ocean and 100 yards off a coastal dune lake) there is water everywhere. We are planning to take advantage of many Kayaking opportunities. The Oasis will be on and off the Suburban a lot.

Any comments or suggestions on our rack plans would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't forget about security for your new yak! A cable lock (when you pick up you yak ask about it) will deter or stop someone from stealing your yak. I have read too many posts from people that have lost their hulls to thiefs
