Help - Have I Made a mistake????? - Hobie Adventure?

Hi Everyone,

Its my first post but can I start off by complementing you all on a brilliant forum! The knowledge & willingness to share & help are second to none.

Now to my quandary - I've ordered a Hobie Adventure and its due anytime now The problem is I think i may of made a mistake and should have gone with the Revo due to my weight I'm currently around the 245lb mark, very recently it was 260 so its going in the right direction When I ordered I knew it was going to be a wet ride but with the cold water here in the UK I'm already geared up to deal with this, I think the Adventure is rated for about 350lb but I suppose I need to know will I be too heavy & will it effect performance, the best weight I'm going to get to is around 210.
I'm not planning on loading it with loads of gear (got an X Factor for that) but I do want to put in some long open water distances.

Its probably to late to do anything about it but what do you think?

The Revo has the same weight capacity. The Adventure is designed to sit a little lower than the Revo so it may be a bit of a wetter ride depending on the water you fish in. It doesn't sound like your weight will negatively effect it. The Adventure is supposed to be better than the Revo in chop, so its probably the better ride for your long open water cruises even if it is a little wetter.

Stop worrying, you will enjoy it.

Kickingk, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase! Considering that the Adventure has a slightly longer, roomier cockpit than the Revolution, you'll find that it's a great fit. Your weight won't be a problem at all -- we've actually had two adults on my Adventure and it still worked fine. Excellent choice -- you're going to love it!

I agree with both posts
I have the Revolution, my friend has the Adventure.
After a day of fishing we are always going into the wind
Peddling into wind driven small waves creates splash and spray

The shorter hull (especially the bow section) leaves me at times soaked
I have the issue of my own speed going into it as well as the spray getting
airborne and driven by the wind.

The longer hull of the Adventure normally keeps him dry

You just cant go wrong with any of them. I stood up in my Revo for first time yesterday on open river, little wobbly, but another checkblock of the myriad things done from my Revo

I tried out the Adventure several times and ended up soaked every time. Hull length is not the problem because I almost always stayed dry in the Outback compared to getting soaked from 6" waves in the Adventure.
