Hey Kep,
Nice pic--looks just like I remember it. Never got over to Long. My favorite place of all though is Stanford's Hopkins Marine Station in Pacific Grove where I got started on my marine biology career as a student in Professor Don Abbott's Invertebrate Zoology class (and later taught in the same course)--the best class I ever had at Stanford. The Monterey Aquarium is now adjacent to HMS and the beach where I did my first SCUBA diving. Here's the view looking toward HMS from the Aquarium. Please excuse the dadgum tourist messing up the pic--he wouldn't get out of the way!

G'Day Kep,
Thanks for the kind offer but I can't see us heading your way in the near future!
As far as what to take camping at the Blue Gum beaches you'd have to have damper and Billy Tea on the menu.
This has been a very interesting post. The landscape looks really picturesque and the info about the fault line and The Birds I found fascinating. Looking forward to hearing about your camping trip. 8)
I wonder what the ride on the wake resulting from a bit of plate slippage would be like?
