Hope this isn't out of line. Just wanting some insight and recommendation for a vacuum sealer for all these fish we catch. Thanks. |

I also use to seal spare batteries or radio battery packs. Anything we carry on the boats that gets used only once in a while, but must be kept dry. |

Not out of line at all pmojoe389. I just bought this for under $80 on ebay. No particular brand. I thought it was going to be one of those appliances that I'd use a couple of times and than stick it on the top shelf of the pantry with the popcorn and waffle makers. But it's brilliant. I always take Biltong ( beef jerky ) with me whilst sailing or kayaking and by packing up strips of 6 in each packet it's so convenient and keeps it dry. Never thought about the batteries Bob. Good thought. I have matches and paper sealed up as well just in case the gas cooker doesn't work. I've yet to find bags that are suitable for 'boil in a bag' food. It would be so convenient for what we do. If you know of if they exist or where to get them, please let me know. |

I buy a lot of high quality meats and fish and decided to just get a really good vacuum sealer. It's been very well worth the money. Weston Pro-2300 in stainless steel. If you only do this occasionally, this might be overkill. Either way, it'd be the last one you'd ever have to buy. |

During this years Fraser trip Paulo had a pretty cool manual vacuum seal system. I remember to think man that's cool, and then forgot about it. Guess what Santa brought me? It contains reusable ziplock bags in different sizes and a manual hand pump which is very lightweight and works very well. That allows me to vacuum seal things from food to clothes while I am on a trip. Take some serial out and then vacuum seal the rest again. Brilliant. It is called airLock. https://www.dropbox.com/s/33yv4xb38gzvnhj/Photo%203-01-13%2017%2016%2048.jpg |

To my knowledge and Out of my experience, I can suggest you a Vacmaster Vacuum Sealer and it works perfectly fine for all my vacuum sealing needs. |
