I've got a use it or lose it day off work this week, and I thought what better way to have some fun than go for a sail. I'm planning a sail somewhere this Thursday if anyone is interested.

I was thinking I might enjoy a trip I did with Sun E Sailor and some others up the Indian River Lagoon, to the Jenson Beach Causeway, to pause and have lunch at Conchy Joes before heading back. However, the wind forecast I'm seeing has the wind out of the north/northeast, therefore, a north south sail may not be in order. With that being said, maybe a run from Blackpoint Marina over to Boca Chita Key could be in order? (The more I think about it, the more I'm liking this option) I'm in Broward, so both locations are a bit of a drive, but I'm willing to go where the sailing is good. So see, I'm not picky. Whose up for a sail, and anybody have any other good ideas or like the above?

I too am following the wind forecast for Thursday. The latest forecast for Key Biscayne / Crandon Beach Park is calling for 2-3 knots. The forecast for Palm Beach County (Lake Worth) look a little better at 5-9 knots. We'll continue to monitor the forecasts.

2-3 knots is no good...what happened to the winter winds? I'll have to bring an electric fan with me to hold. Even at 5-9 knots I'm inclined scrap it. It looks like the winds may be better Friday, I could do that day instead of Thursday. Let me know what you think.

The forecast for locations further north in Palm Beach County continues to look promising. 6-9 knots out of the north. http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/lake_worth

If we launch into the ocean at South Delray Beach, we may even get an additional boost from the sea-breeze that typically develops right over the beach.
