Saturday October 26 - Sunday October 27 2013

South Florida and Treasure Coast AI/TI sailors are invited to join us for a weekend of sailing on the Indian River near Jensen Beach. This area contains excellent fishing spots and places to relax for a picnic lunch.

We plan to meet at the Jensen Beach Boat Ramp Park @ 10 am each morning. This public boat ramp is located in the northern end of Indian Riverside park, adjacent to the US Sailing Center of Martin County. The boat ramp offers plenty of free car and trailer parking and restrooms. 1985 Northeast Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach.

Our family will be staying at the River Palm Cottages for the weekend. This hotel on the Indian River allows guest sailboats to be beached fully rigged on the sand in front of our cottage overnight. In the morning, we simply slide the boat into the water and go sailing.

Please register your participation for this event by either posting on this thread or by calling Hobie's Island Club Coordinator, Lorraine Garnier, at 760-758-9100 ext. 605.

Marc,
Thanks for organizing the get together. I had a great time and the weather was perfect.

The winds were perfect for high speed beam reach sailing across the river. It was fun exploring the peaceful mangrove bays on the east side and the brightly color painted cottages on the west side. One day, we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the Jensen Beach Causeway park, and the next day, we relaxed and enjoyed lunch at a popular waterfront bar & restaurant. Good winds and good food with good friends... what more can you ask for?
