Hi all

Here's an update on the restoration so far. Hulls are in for repairs and order is in for new sheets and stay cables. AND... the tramp is back from the seamstress. It looks great!
The tramp used to look like this:

Now semi-new and fixed. Looking like this:

And yes those a brass eyelids and probably not the best choice, as I would likely have to replace them in about a year?( Opinions welcome)
But it's all they had.
Also no pouches on the two sides. This might become a bit of a frustration at a later date. As this is the original tramp,I 'm tempted to leave it as is, so will think it over.
Hopefully I will be able to post some more pics on the restoration next week.

Hi guys.

Newest update on the restoration. Hulls removed from frame and sanded down. Decided to go with a automotive paint for the spray job. I know it's been discussed various times on this site. It seems the simplest solution for restoring the hulls to their former colour.

The problem now is, what material to use for the non skid strips on the upper part of the hull? Any ideas welcome.
Note we will be painting over the material.

Secondly how would one go about taking up the play between the pylon and the corner casting of the frame? The previous owner had forced a wedge/shim into the openings the stop any movement.

Lastly what is best, through bolting on the gudgeons or tap and machine screws.

As before any advice welcome.

Why paint. Looks like the rear sections cleaned up nice. Wetsand the oxidation off and polish.

There is several treads about using alum flashing for shims.

You must be pleased to start with a boat with great bones.
Where do you plan on sailing her?

Hi Jonathan

Yeah definitely. Makes life a lot easier. I'm way off continent from you guys. Charlotte is in the south of the States right? Well to the east and south, that's were I do most of my sailing.

Best regards

Wow! She's looking good. Do you have any more updates? You must be done by now since you said you were planning on sailing in December.

Unfortunately we couldn't salvage the jib, so as you can see it's a new white one.
Hope to post a video of her on the water soon.

Thank you all.
