Hey everybody,
I just wanted to know If anyone here has ever taken the decks off a hobie 18 and the successfully put them back on. After reading some posts It sounds as if it is very difficult to do, But I have tools and free time. :D

Why would you ever want to do this?

I have tools and free time, too, but this is just a long, drawn out way to destroy a boat or get one that's really ugly.

it doesn't get any simpler than that.

If you are one of those people that being told NO is just like a red flag to a bull and you are determined to try, I suggest you hit your thumb with your sledge hammer. The pain will be more intense, but it won't last as long.

Hey thanks for the reply,
The only reason I wanted to know was because I parted out an H-18 and the only parts I have are the hulls and cross members. I want to make a fishing boat out of it and I need to get inside the hulls to work on them because they have several large soft spots and I'm planning to add a large permanent motor mount that will mount where the rudders where.

years ago there was a kit called "Wild Thang" that put an engine on an 18 hull. I remember the pictures; maybe you can do a search. I think it was a Florida team that played with it.
