Is there a history of the swivel at the top of the jib forestay wearing out to the point that the jib becomes difficult to unfurl, especially the last foot or so? The boat is 26 years old and only in fresh water. Any thoughts? PS... It's a h18......Thanks, in advance...DJ

no history... thing is bulletproof.

1. clean and lube it.
2. make sure the furler line is free to run up around the furler and not caught or tangled
3. release mainsheet tension before trying to unfurl.
4. foot off a bit if doing so while sailing...

you may also need to redo your furler at the bridle.. there is a kit with new bearings/ washers etc .... makes a big difference also,.. just did mine...
