I bought a new Tiger and I do not live near the dealer or any other sailboats.

Is there some diagrams or instructions for the rope feeding for the mainsheet system (downhaul rope system) that attaches to the top of the main traveller car?

Thanks Diennard

Unfortunately the instructions there that I saw said that the dealer is supposed to do this for you. However I do not live close to the dealer (I live in North Eastern Canada) and although I could call him long distance to ask the question I was simply trying to short circuit that by seeing if an explaination was somewhere on the web.

It is an 8 to 1 system: There are two set ups for the mainsheet. The older boats have a triple block on the top with a single block hanging off a becket of that. Then the bottom will have a triple with a single becket either on the becket of the triple or just above the cleat. The new system is a quad on the top with no becket and the same as the old one on the bottom. It may take a couple of experiments to figure out the best way to lace it but you should not have to cross any lines that cause friction. If you put it together a couple of times I will bet that you get it right. Think of the blocks being 90 degrees off one another.

I use a 10 to 1 system by getting a double and hanging it on top where the single is on the top triple (old system) then moving the single from there to the bottom where the other single is not. Cost about $35 for the block.

Later,
Dan

Here is a link to some photos. Keep the top block turned 90 degrees like Dan said. http://store.catsailor.com/tek9.asp?pg=products&grp=331

Thanks Dan and Diennard

I meant to get back to you earlier but got busy. The pics helped greatly.

I hear you about the 90 degrees business but I do not understand why. Any explanation.

BTW I figured out how to do it after a number of trys combined with the pics. :)
