 Post subject: Rudder Drilling Choices

My '85 Hobie 18 has been updated to the newer rudder setup. However, I am having trouble getting the rudders adjusted as they should be. It was suggested by the group that I sail with to double check the drill locations in the rudders themselves. My question is this, on the drill template provided on the support web site example, is the C-C Hobie 18 w/Non-adjustable rudder cams referring to the old rudder setup? I've been told these had metal cams rather than the plastic?

If the above is true then I want to use the markings for the D-D set of holes, same as the Wave, 17, 18 and 21 right?.

Locations C-C would be the older system (pre '86 ish) These holes are near the top of the blade and about equal on a horizontal line. The old system used metal cams of a completely different style than current systems. Current cams are the same as all other Hobies, A black plastic rotating cam.

Correct. Use locations D-D same as 17, Wave, Newer 18s, Getaway, 21 Sport Cruiser.
