I have a friend that has an 18 with a bent mast, there is about a 3" draft in the lower 5 to 6' of the mast. Can the mast be bent back straight? He also has an old H16 mast with no comptip installed. Is the mast extrusion the same for the 16 and 18? If so can he just cut the mast and install the H18 comptip and reinstall the 18 riging, ie. diamond wires, boom connection, shroud anchor plate and mast step? They appear to be the same.

Don't bend the mast back straight. It will probably just crack and break off.
