1st time on site. Just purchased a H 18, and it need some rebuilding. The serial No. is CCMH0097M77H-R. So I know it is a 1977, but what is the 'R' at the end of the sequenced? Are there any known issues with the '77 hulls? Thanks for any help you can give. LarryBill

I'm not sure what the R is for, but welcome to the club!

Congrats on your purchase.

If I recall correctly, the only"issue" with the early H18 hulls is the weight. Yours is heavier than the newer models.

I vaguely recall that the "R" stood for "Replacement".

Is it on both hulls? If not, then the one with the "R" was probably replaced at some point in the boat's life.

Considering you have one of the first 18's made, that would not be surprising.

(Your boat was the 97th boat built in the 1977 model year, manufactured in March of that year.)
