Post subject:  New to forum, new to my hobby 18, and new to Ft. Lauderdale
Hey everyone,

Just moved to Ft. Lauderdale last week after living in the caribbean for the past few years. I told my girlfriend that if we were moving back to the states that I was going to buy a hobby 18 so we could still get out sailing.

I have spent this entire week filling soft spots in the deck and preparing the hulls for painting.

I am kind of thinking of taking her out sailing tomorrow if I get done fairing the deck, but i'm not sure though...

Anyways, just wanted to check in and say hi.

I will post pics of my project once I load the photos off my iphone.

Any South Florida 18 sailors around give me a shout and maybe we can get out on the water together.

The first step to advance from the total noob phase...spell the brand of the boat correctly. It's Hobie. :D

Welcome.... Ahhhh Florida, never sailed there, only visited. There looks to be SOOOO much good sailing out there!

Lots of Florida sailors on catsailor.com. Very active racing in that area on many different cats.
