I have a 1984 Hobie 18 magnum with a comp tip.

Twice now I've bought the rotating Hobie Bob and attached it to the mast using rivets just to have the rivets pull out of the comp (fiberglass) tip. (Yes I tend to push it really hard. This last time we ended up turtling 2 1/2 off Santa Cruz in overhead swells and having the harbor patrol have to come out and help right us.)

Does anyone have a better way of attaching the thing or a better floatation device to use?

Thanks,
Darren

I also have a baby bob and want to install at my H18, does anyone know it can float up the mast on a H18 ?
