My 18 has black spars and fittings Inc rudder units
Magnum wings as they extend beyond crossbars
Sail number 14281

So could it be a 18SE with magnum wings added ?

The faqs imply I have too many numbers on the sail to be an SX?

Sorry SX wings because they extend beyond the cross beams

Is the main bigger for the SX?

Measure the length of your mast. The standard mast is 28'1", the SX mast is 29'6".

Yep. Either SX or Magnum wings may be added to any H18. Just the sail number says it's an 18, but to be sure, if the sail is dacron it's an 18SE, if it's mylar it's an 18SX, plus the SX has a longer mast.

Yep, SX wings are longer. Also, the main AND jib are larger.

According to Matt's 18 specs in the FAQ post, the SX version actually has less sail area than the standard H18 (240 sq' for the standard vs. 220 sq' for the SX). The SX has a taller, higher aspect sail plan but assuming Matt's figures are correct, it isn't larger.
