Is the deck area under the rear crossbar cored? If not how far in front/behind the crossbeam does the core end? How thick is the core behind the crossbar? Unfortunately, I think I have a core replacement to do on my deck behind the crossbar (a PO didn't properly bed a hatch he installed, and the core is wet...), and this should help me plan for the amount of work I need to do.

I'm always sorry to see an 18 meet its end, but thanks for posting the pictures so we could see the construction.

Thanks,
Steve

So sad to see an 18 die, nothing lasts forever.
Interesting to get good views of the inside we never see.

If you look in the last two photos, you can see where the core ends in the deck about an inch shy of the crossbeam beds. Like all core ends, it's tapered down.

The deck core begins again after the rear crossbar bed. I just went and measured the round cut-out scrap from when I installed an aft port hole. The core is about 7/32" thick in the area midway between the aft crossbar and the stern.
