My boat has the factory ports as well as 4" ports aft of the dagger wells. Lately the port hull has been draining a cup or two when we trailer out. I'm pretty sure it's been getting in where these ports meet the hull. Should I use a silicone based sealant (easy but would probably be a maintenance item) or something like epoxy or polyester (more labor but more permanent)? And should I drill out the rivets and reseat them? They don't seam physically compromised but it might make a better seal.

Hobie sends silicone sealant with the inspection port assembly. Centralmichigansailor showed the install of his aft ports in his build here: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=36064&start=15

Make sure you follow centralmichigansailor's instructions for sealing the edge of the core. If you don't you may well wind up with a major repair job on your hands down the road...

The sealing is on page 1 of that thread.
