Anyone have the Diameter of the slugs that slide into the crosstubes? I just scored a set of magnums :D and need some mounting odds and ends.

Thanks

Contact me offline. I may have some extras or will get you the diameter and length, size thread. I built a set for my use and always build extras. I just put the boat on the beach last night.

Wing Slugs:

3 pieces 2 3/8" long, 1/2" diameter Stainless Steel. Tapped hole in center, 5/16 - 18 thread.

One longer piece for the rear open side where you insert the tramp.
1 piece 3 1/2" long, 1/2" diameter Stainless Steel. Tapped hole is 1 1/8" in from end of slug. Hole is 5/16 - 18 thread.

Studs are 5/16 - 18 x 2" long stainless socket set screws. I cut up some SS carriage bolts and used a hacksaw to put a slot in one end for a screwdriver. It was cheaper.

Hope you have the SS tabs that get bolted on the endof the crossbars. Those are flat where bolted to the crossbar and curved to match the radius of the tube. (I would purchase them from Hobie).

Good luck

CAUTION: Once you sail with wings, you will never want to sail without them.

My BF sailed his 16 friday night and then we went out on my 18. He says I am spoiled, he likes the dryer "cadillac" ride of the 18. My old knees don't last long on a 16 any more.

Just saying.

Enjoy!

the strut tabs that Dale refers to may be hard to find. I just placed an order with Murrays and those were back ordered. I am now going to see if the Hobie dealer here has them in stock or can get from Hobie.
