The new Hobie 18 rudder plunger are defective / weak and unsuitable. Several have been bent and pushed out of position. I use new well lubed cams, screw replacement rivets, I also use very little tension on the spring, they keep breaking. Ideas? |

It's likely a miss-drilled casting and the plunger is at the wrong angle - see the dealer you bought it from for a replacement. (Hobie we warranty the casting no problem) Thx |

I had the same problem with the plungers after putting on a new upper casting which didn't fit well, then I adjusted the casting connections (filing them down so they fit together better) and so far so good. |
