I installed and use the 8:1 downhaul as shown in the top .... RED photo. Brilliant and would recommend this to everyone. The bottom cleat block swivels for when you are out on trapeze.

Also, you do not need to be herculese to crank it in. Essential for the women folk.

The 8:1 is essential for the new square type top. Maybe not so, for the older type sail.

I have an all standard aluminium mast (without tip). Impressive is to see this mast bend when the 8:1 purchased is pulled in.
