Can anyone check there trailer and measure the crossmember bar for me? Is it 8 feet or 8 1/2 feet? 8 feet should be enough right? |

actually, without measuring I can tell you with about 95% certainty it is 8 feet even, because anything wider requires a special permit over the road. |

I think in most states the legal width is 8' 6" (102"), not 8', so I'd double check before cutting anything short... I'll grab a tape measure the next time I head down to my boat and see what mine are. |

since I stopped home for lunch, I measured the crossbeam on my Trailex trailer. it is 8'-½" long. plenty wide for my H18. BTW, federal DOT standards call for a 10' wide lane on US and Interstate hwys. Though I have experienced locales where a state DOT has carved an extra lane in high density areas by narrowing the shoulder and the lanes of traffic... to under 9 feet! creates a challenge to keep the trailer centered in the lane when surrounded by traffic. |

8' is plenty wide enough as the boat itself is only 8' wide. the point where the hulls rest on the crossbar is therefore under and inside that measurement by a few inches. You can put a stopper of somesort (weld line, cap) on the end of the bar to keep things from sliding off if you want..... paul |

The crossbars on my H18 trailer are 92 3/4" wide and are just barely wide enough. The end of the roller assemblies are only about 1/4" from the ends. |
